A CBS news article highlighting the plight of the desert locust outbreak in Kenya has created online buzz after it raised eyebrows on its intent.

The American owned English broadcast network through its twitter handle posted this tweet "Locust outbreak in Kenya is worst in 70 years: Even cows are wondering what is happening" attributing these words to a farmer who was chasing locusts from his farm.

Some online users wondered how cows could be quoted verbatim.
@Tsharz "Who talked to the cows?"
@RamzZy_ "Who interviewed the cows?"
@Nanjala1 "Put the journalist who speaks to cows on the line."
@Maccoscyrus ""Fellow cows, It is with a heavy heart."

Others felt that it was a good move to highlight the issue that has been given a blackout by local media
@RasnaWarah "What baffles me is that while the international media has recognised this as a national disaster, the government and local media have shown little interest in it."

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has declared a level 3 emergency situation over the disaster  which poses a great threat to food security in the entire region of East Africa.
