Killer cop. Young man killed in Majengo

A trigger happy policeman has been accused of killing a young man in Mashimoni area, Nairobi County

The young man identified as Hemedi was shot to death by the officer after he intervened over a disagreement that had ensued between the officer and another young boy, whom the officer accused of smoking bhang. According to local sources, Hemedi aged 21 and an orphan living with his grandmother ran a skating business in Majengo where he trained boys how to skate.

 Videos have surfaced online showing residents protesting over police brutality in the area.



Locals have identified the killer policeman as a Mr.Chirchir who appears in the below picture


The Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai has not yet commented on this incident.  According to lawyer Cliff Ombeta, Hemedi's body is scheduled for a postmoterm. He also says that the Independent Policing and Oversight Authority (IPOA) have taken over the investigations and weapons collected for analysis. However, other reports say that the young man will be buried after today's Friday prayers.

The incident has brought an outcry from members of the public who condemn the police of extra judicial killings on young people.

The brutal killing of Hemedi comes a day after the police executed a 17 year old young man during protests in Mwiki where residents have accused the police of using live bullets to scatter protestors.
