Former Attorney General and Minister for constitutional affairs Charles Mugane Njonjo turns a 100 years on 23rd January.

As part of activities leading to his 100th birthday, the former AG famously referred to as Duke of Kabeteshire visited Uganda where he participated in an exercise of tracking gorillas. Njonjo though looking frail was surrounded by his family members as he successfully carried out the exercise. He is in Uganda courtesy of the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) which awarded him a tracking certificate for successfully tracking Gorillas in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. "It has been a pleasure hosting you and we wish you the best as you look forward to celebrating your 100th birthday on January 23rd 2020," posted UWA.

Due to his old age, Njonjo was carried on a special made shoulder carrier and UWA explained why they do it that way. "Lifting services to weak, tired or aged tourists who want to track Gorillas are offered by community members in Bwindi and Mgahinga National Parks at a fee. In the picture, the 100 year old former Attorney General of Kenya Njonjo  Charles is benefiting from such services."

We wish the former AG who once rode to school on a horse thanks to his father who was a collaborater a happy 100th birthday!
