The Lufthansa Group which owns and operates Lufthansa airlines has sent an apology to exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna following the airline's mistreatment on 6th January, 2020.

The lawyer wrote this on twitter. "The airline that acquiesced to an illegal RED ALERT by Despot Uhuru Kenyatta and cancelled my flight LH590 to Nairobi, has FORMALLY APOLOGIZED to me. I accept their apology."

Air France crew removed Miguna from Flight AF0814 from Charles De Gaulle Airport to JKIA, which was about to take off after the Kenya Government sent Red Alerts to all airlines warning them against flying him.

However, the apology does not mean that the airlines have agreed to fly Miguna home. "I have stated that Lufthansa has apologized to me because it has done so. However, the illegal "red alert" Despot Uhuru Kenyatta issued against Lufthansa and other airlines has not been cancelled or withdrawn," he said.

The government backtracked on it's earlier communication that the lawyer would be granted a smooth entry into the country as per the court orders only for it to issue red alerts warning airlines against flying the lawyer. Yesterday, the government through it's spokesperson Cyrus Oguna said that Miguna must present himself to any Kenyan mission to get valid travel papers to be allowed to fly into Kenya a move that angered Miguna who insists that the government must obey court orders."The Court has not ordered Miguna to apply for a new passport at an embassy abroad. The Court ORDERED the despots to RETURN Miguna where they illegally took him from - his Runda House - on February 2, 2018. Miguna doesn't need a passport to return to his house."
