Babu Owino to be remanded for another 7 days

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino will be remanded for the next 7 days after Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi denied him bail.

The MP was arraigned today in court to take plea following charges of attempted murder levelled against him. He is accused of shooting and injuring a DJ at a popular entertainment joint in Nairobi on Friday morning. Babu entered a plea of not guilty.

Andayi has ordered for a plea bail report to be filed in court within 7 days detailing the views of the victim in this matter. The Chief Magistrate said that the report is important as it will detail the views of the victim before bail terms are agreed on.
