Top student in the 2019 KCSE examination

Buluma Tony from Kapsabet Boys High School is the top student in the country in the just released KCSE 2019 results. Tony had a means score of 87.159 points.

Speaking during the official release of the  KCSE 2019 results, Education CS George Magoha said that 17 counties had more females than males sitting for the exams. Performance increased significantly in the following subjects: english,Swahili,chemistry,biology and physics.

Those who attained A grade rose from 315 last year to 627 while those with C plus and above rose from 90,378 to 125,746.
Magoha also celebrated those students who performed dismally in KCPE but outperformed in their KCSE.

The CS has warned against parents to marry off their teenage daughters and called on any female learner who fell pregnant to go back to school.

Magoha added that his Ministry is prepared to roll out the competency based curriculum in January 2020  and more teachers are been trained for grade 4 roll out. He also mentioned that his ministry will establish a transitional committee at the sub counties to ensure 100% transition for learners.

A total of 699,745 candidates sat this year's examination.
