President launches Naivasha SGR Freight services.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has commissioned the SGR freight operations to the Naivasha Inland Container Depot.
Speaking during the event, the President pointed out that his administration is keen on undertaking infrastructural projects that will help achieve Vision 2030 and the Big 4 Agenda. "Sound infrastructure is critical in attaining socioeconomic transformation of any nation. Our aim is to provide a safe and fast rail transport for the entire East Africa region."
The President further noted that the completion of the Naivasha Inland Container Depot will boost development of the Naivasha Industrial Park.
The commissioning of the Naivasha freight services will help ease cargo operations at the Mombasa Port.
