Most wanted persons
The National Police Service(NPS) has released images and names of 3 most wanted persons who it says are armed and dangerous and are said to be operating in Nairobi and Mombasa.
The 3 are; Arafat Kyalo Masai, Juma Waziri and Salim Mohamed Ahmed.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) released a study last year which showed that there are more than 100 criminal gangs operating across the country despite a ban on such militia groups in 2016.
In the recent past coastal residents have complained of an upsurge in criminal gangs who maim, kill, steal and injure their victims. In the past year, at least 30 people have been killed by members of these gangs who are mostly young men.
The NPS has appealed to members of the public to contact the police or report to the nearest police station in case they sight the 3.
