Freedom is coming tomorrow, President Uhuru says Miguna can return into the country

President Uhuru Kenyatta has broken his silence on the deportation of Lawyer Miguna Miguna.

Speaking on Monday during the funeral service of the late Former Nairobi City Mayor Charles Rubia, the President said that Rubia and many others fought so hard for the realisation of the rights and freedoms that Kenyans enjoy especially free speech."Hata nimeskia kuna wengine  wanataka kupanda ndege wakuje waendeleze kelele zao, let them do that. Hiyo nĂ haki yake. It is the right of everyone to articulate issues to make life better for ordinary citizens," said Uhuru.

Though the President did not directly mention Miguna's name, it is most likely that he was referring to him because the lawyer and former advisor to ODM party leader Raila Odinga has vehemently expressed his desire to return to the country after been deported twice in 2018.

"Despot UHURU Kenyatta broke into my house with explosives and abducted me on Feb 2, 2018 and forced me into exile on Feb 6, 2018. The despot sedated and exiled me again on March 29, 2018."

Miguna announced that he will be arriving in Kenya on 7th January, 2020 and called out on Kenyans not to cower under despots and conmen. " See you in Nairobi on January 7, 2020 at 9:30 p.m.
Don't fear or compromise. Be focused. Pursue integrity, justice and equality for all!
Because Justice delayed is justice denied. Viva!"

In 2018, the High Court awarded Miguna Miguna Sh7 million in damages for arbitrary deportation by the State. Justice Chacha Mwita also directed the Department of Immigration to reinstate Miguna’s revoked passport saying as a citizen by birth he never lost his Kenyan citizenship.
