In his book, Mudavadi lifts the veil and gives readers a glimpse into his childhood and an interesting recollection of his political journey. He writes about the events sorrounding the mock swearing in of the Peoples President and also opens up on how President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto, tricked him after the 3 agreed on fronting him as a presidential candidate in the 2012 general elections.

Speaking during the function,Mudavadi reminded the audience how as Finance Minister, they had to reschedule massive debt at a high cost. He said that he fears that the current economic crisis will greatly affect Kenyans. "If this book is a storm, a hurricane is coming."

CS Amina who was the Chief guest described Mudavadi  as a man who makes his choices and lives with them. "Sometimes the choices pay off. Some others they let him down. Whatever the case,he owns the outcome of his choices and lives with them."

Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua described Mudavadi as a gentleman, very amiable and is able to work with anybody.

But even as Mudavadi launches his memoir, some Kenyans have pointed out glaring gaffes in his book.  They have pointed out how he misses out on key important dates of major events such as the correct dates of the death of Jaramogi Oginga and the swearing in of Mwai Kibaki.

His Former NASA Co-Principal Raila Odinga has also chided Mudavadi for suffering from lapses of memory loss.

The release of the book has left Kenyans wondering whether Mudavadi is seeking attention of Kenyan voters ahead of the 2022 elections or whether it is a genuine gesture to let Kenyans know about the behind the scenes events that have shaped the politics of our country.
