Politicians condole with Moi's family


Today, politicians from across the political divide set aside their differences and visited the family of the late former President Daniel Moi at his Kabarnet Gardens home in Nairobi.

The delegation led by Senate Majority Leader Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen condoled with Moi's family who were represented by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

"Together with my colleagues in Parliament, we visited the family of HE President D.T Arap Moi  to pray and share words of comfort as we celebrate the life of a man who defined the history of our country in many ways and impacted many lives. May he rest in eternal peace," said Murkomen.


The former Head of State will be buried on Wednesday next week at his Kabarak home. President Kenyatta yesterday announced that the nation would observe a period of national mourning until when the deceased will be laid to rest. The late president will also be accorded a state funeral with all appropriate civilian and full military honours been rendered and observed.

The political class have also postponed all the Building Bridges Initiative rallies that were scheduled to be held in the coming weekend in honour of the passing of the  former President.
